Leadership Staff
Leadership staff seconded from the French National Education system
AFLEC has a network of schools accredited by the French National Education system. These schools require governance in line with French National Education curricula. That is why, in most cases, AFLEC calls on serving leadership staff under a secondment arrangement.
However, the specific characteristics of schools abroad require those in positions of authority to have particular skills in adaptation, diplomacy and team leadership.
Regarding secondment, candidates are asked to read the content of the memorandum published in the BOEN.

Non-tenured leadership staff of the French National Education system
AFLEC recruits leadership staff with locally recruited status. These are French headteachers (proviseurs) who do not wish to be “seconded”, or heads of school of other nationalities whose profile matches the school’s educational, managerial or administrative objectives.
In the view of the AFLEC Recruitment Committee, these heads of school offer the advantage of being drivers of innovation and international outreach.
Retired leadership staff
AFLEC calls on “young” retirees to lead certain schools, particularly on an interim basis. These are, of course, honorary leadership staff who have completed several assignments in French schools abroad. This may also include retirees who have followed other interesting career paths. Their expertise is a valuable asset in managing schools that require this type of highly experienced staff.
