The status of locally recruited leadership staff

Who are locally recruited leadership staff?

In certain circumstances, AFLEC recruits leadership staff on local contracts:

Recruitment conditions

Whatever their original situation, locally recruited leadership staff must meet AFLEC’s requirements, in particular possessing professional expertise that matches the post to be filled, but also the recruitment rules in force in the country where they are to work, notably the required qualifications, the number of years of professional experience and the leadership abilities required by the authorities of the host country.

Local contract

Local-law contracts govern, in particular, the terms of remuneration and the health insurance and pension arrangements in force in the host country. Local contracts are signed by the employee and their employer, that is, an authorised representative of the school’s Management Committee.

Social security entitlements

Staff recruited on a local contract receive the social benefits provided for by the laws of the host country.

However, French nationals may apply for voluntary membership of the Caisse des Français à l’étranger (CFE), which guarantees all French social security entitlements.

Applying for a post on a local contract

You must submit your application using the form below. The AFLEC Human Resources department selects applications on the basis of the documents submitted and, if the profile is shortlisted, through interviews

Interviews

Wherever possible, candidates shortlisted on the strength of their application are invited to one or more interviews with the AFLEC Recruitment Committee. These interviews may take place by videoconference.

Staff selected following the interviews are individually notified by AFLEC of a proposed assignment. For successful candidates, the job offer must be approved by the school’s Management Committee.

Finally, AFLEC sends the necessary information to the school, which draws up the contract.
